The Silence of Awareness
can be an excellent refuge from the “noise” of the world and of our minds. My meditation practice has evolved over the years and has grown alongside my musical practice, both beginning about 20 years ago, touching into traditions like mindfulness, Zen Buddhism, Dzogchen, Advaita Vedanta, and Kashmiri Shaivism. I am forever grateful for my meditation practice as it keeps me present, humble, and grounded.
When I began combining the two practices of music and meditation during my doctoral studies, I found that not only did they have a lot in common, but they actually balanced, supported, and inspired each other. I started a YouTube Chanel called “Sound from Silence” to help musicians tune into the silence in between and within each note of their lives. Stay tuned here for info on weekly meditation offerings.
